Shard not working

I took a snapshot of my damage with a mal mace, and a few hours later made a mal mace with a shard. The sharded Mace doesn't show the shard, and the damage difference is only +1. I went from 727 damage to 728. Mace at 727 is 800 blues. Mace at 787 is 1000 blues, 500 whites, 200 greens, 200 blacks, and a shard added at expertising. What am I missing?

if shard was added at great sword and not expertise it will not show.i am checking up on the shard code.

ok aging is a big part if mace was at 22k at great sword it should have given a boost. and then given a
boost when added to expertise then aged again to 22k if you did not do this that is your fault not mine.

The shard was added during expertising, not on great sword. I seem to have lost the second screen shot.

I aged the great sword to 22k+ hits.

Doh. I was being an idiot. I didn't de-equip my other Mal Mace, which was taking priority over the new sharded one. So sorry for the goose chase, Iresh.

I've looked over the code, and performed a test myself with a Mal mace on my admin.

If the great sword had a shard, it's damage is 72 instead of 66.

This is how damage value is calculated for all expertise weapons.

When performing the expertise, what actually happens is the existing damage is divided by two, then half of the unsharded damage is added. So the original shard is diluted when making the expertise. instead of the expected 72 damage, you get 69. I did not change this code.

If the greatsword was fully aged, this is then doubled to 138.

then the +30 from mace is added on, if you made a mace, getting 168

THEN the shard bonus of 16 (trunc(168/10)) is added on, to get 184.

So a double sharded Mal mace is 184 damage value, and DOES have the trail.

If the shard was on the gs, if full aged, and none on the expertise, it would be 168, and have no trail.

If there was no shard on the GS, but one was added to the expertise, it would be 178, and have a trail.

It has always been like this. Double sharded weapons have never had the full expected damage.

If your Mal mace has any other damage value, it was not fully aged with 22k kits, or you left out some ingots. it should be a War Mace.

If it was not sufficiently aged, or you were missing an ingot, that is not our fault. :)
