Re: Spreadsheets!

Totem shatter has now been included in the spreadsheet. It functions much the same way as the others. There's also a line for which totem to use for skilling as well as how many imbues to use. You can use higher or lower level totems or fewer imbues and still have 100% success in your shatters. This...

I'm confused as to why something that is offensive (and a claw is the epitome of aggressive) would add benefits to the defensive.
Claws lend themselves to speed and agility. Speed and agility make it easier to deflect attacks or to dodge.

Re: Balancing the builds

Which I addressed in the OP, and why it would be important to make the change soon instead of decide it's necessary as the playerbase starts dying out. A sweeping change that forces the readjustment of the entire game, and has to be made quickly.. yeah, not a chance. A change of that magnitude shou...

Re: Idea for Claws: Increase Attack Speed

It wouldn't need to be +20 quickness, and even if you're arguing that you parry faster or better, that would still be a non-hit, which would apply for quickness. I actually do like the quickness bonus or the bonus to block. The only benefit of a faster attack speed, rather than just dealing more dam...

A graph of the value of a stat vs. what would be passed on to WV, damage, or HP calculation. Red is where it is now. Blue is the initial suggestion. The other colors are various other formulae if it's decided that blue is too good for lower stats.

Re: Balancing the builds

There's no endgame cut scene, there's no trophy for beating the last boss, and there's no maximum level. Which makes it all the more important for there to be variety and options if this incarnation of the game is to have a healthy and active playerbase for any significant length of time or to indu...

Re: Balancing the builds

Builds are already inherently balanced There's a very well understood best build These statements are contradictory. There are multiplicative requirements for acquiring stats beyond 10 already, which is similar to diminishing returns. But none before that, which is where a build happens. Anything t...

Idea for Claws: Increase Attack Speed

Claws are the most useless weapons in the game. You know it and I know it. So let's change that. How about, instead of a percent chance to stun, claws are lightweight weapons and, therefore, attack faster. Not twice as fast or anything like that, just that they attack somewhat faster. This could be ...

Another Gold Dust Effect Idea

My idea for gold dust is to have it increase the special ability of the weapon it's on. Katanas would have increased to hit, maces increased damage, and the others would have their percent chance to active increased. Keep the TD the way it is and make it have diminishing returns, so if (for example)...

Balancing the builds

Go in-game and do a /whoall and tell me how many numbers you see that aren't 10 or 1. If I'm online, you'll see three 4's. If Chestie is online, You'll see an 11 and two 2's. That's it. Moreover, for the most part, the only characters outside of 10/1/1 you'll see are almost certainly there only to s...

Re: Merchants

Nowhere in anyone's argument do they conclude this has anything to do with new players either This is a problem before you even get to higher end smith/geo Additionally, if I'm running ingots for 30 hours that means nobody else on the server gets access to ingots during that time. It's a bottleneck...

@Cocoa - Create a new thread if you want to suggest something off topic please I think you missed my point. Edit: Also, I never had issues with buying enough ingots, even though I started playing after you started doing your ingot runs, so don't pretend like you're doing this for new players. Which...

Re: swordsmith bug

Tried a tin GS with 3 reds. Came out to 217.6, which is the TD for 12 dusts.

Edit: I was actually thinking last night of waiting until today to expertise my GS instead of leaving off a few dusts so I could make it before the stat totem ran out. Now I'm glad I didn't wait.

Note: 41472 is the TD for a viz GS with 400 dusts. April also tested a few other combinations, and each time it comes out the same: Each dust on the workbench counts as four.

Re: Few ideas for mage

What about it being a TS recipe? As in, once your drake gets old and sickly, you can TS to make it stage 4 minute 0 again? Fill a totem (I would leave it to a pure mage to suggest what kind) with the same magic used to hatch the drake. It should be one that requires a lot of TS grinding to do, but w...

Spreadsheets!

I have two spreadsheets for you today. The first is a spreadsheet for smithing, expertise, dismantle, geo, and dodge skills. For all but the last, it gives work value ranges (including, for smithing skills, an "absolute minimum" and "absolute maximum," which are much more rare than the "usual min" a...

Re: Custom health bars

Here's a demonstration of the bars that I use (first post) as well as an alternative version of the green bar that is "completely full." I don't really know how to describe it other than that, frankly. The idea is that the health bar is like a container and it's filled with green fluid, I guess? But...

Yin/yang dust

Being a giant, Taoist nerd that I am, I made a dust file for yin/yang. It's kind of huge. I tried making it smaller, but that didn't work.

And no, I won't hold it against you if you use it and aren't a Taoist. That's a silly thing to do.

Re: Custom health bars

These are quartered bars instead of gradient, so health % is easier to determine. If that's important to you. Since I don't use them, they're the "completely full" variety for the green bar.

Re: Custom health bars

The green bar is completely full here, while the "red" bar is just empty. I actually prefer the almost-full look of the original to this. I think this green bar is an old file and not compatible with the red bar in the original post. It'll work, I think, but it'll look weird. Edit: I think someone e...
